“Choose Windows Over Mirrors: My Journey from Depression to Vitality” with David McCain

ALL ARE WELCOME! You BELONG at Beacon – Spiritually open and intentionally inclusive since 1958.

“A soul should have more windows that mirrors”  — Dr. David Martz

If the world were made of mirrors, we all would go insane, for no soul can stand the searing of a constant, introspective acid rain. ” — David McCain

In this spirited message, a soul filled with mirrors symbolizes conditions that may lead to depression while windows into the soul represents conditions that may enable one to thrive. The speaker will play with these images to relate his experience of depression and his transition to vitality. And he will offer an invitation for you to learn and practice one skill that can help you bring more light into your soul.

David McCain will be preaching and sharing an original song on the theme, and Nancy Paxton will be the Worship Associate. David is a new attendee at Beacon who has been in town for 14 years, was a UU in San Diego for 10 years, and is training to be an integrative counselor through the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s Program at NAU.
