RE Resources for Children – 2021 Update and 2022 Plans

Hello Beacon Families! In 2021, we continued with the CartUUns curriculum, providing new shorts with new crafts every other week. So far, the kids have learned about many things- personification, misunderstood animals, as well as life skills like communication and conversation, appropriate behavior, and other such topics.

CartUUNs will continue into 2022, and we encourage families to bring their K-5th graders to Beacon every Sunday- you can enjoy the service, and whether or not we have a CartUUns class, our RE teacher Alexei Besser-Gilbert will always have fun activities and creative play for the kids. Alexei is fully vaccinated and will wear a mask during the entire time he is at church, and we have hand sanitizer and masks available for your ease of mind. Our last class of 2021 will be December 19th, and we will return January 9th.

Information for those participating in CartUUns on Zoom
Similarly to last year, we will be providing craft bags with supplies for families staying home. If you usually come to church and choose to join us on Zoom one week, we will have extra supply bags for you!
You can pick up your craft bags from Alexei at the Beacon office. His office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 10am-3pm. We know these are difficult hours for many working parents, so feel free to email Alexei at office@beaconuu.com or Stephanie at fabarette@gmail.com to coordinate a later pickup at the church or another convenient place.
As a baseline, you should have these supplies available for your child:
Scissors
Crayons
Craft Glue
Glue Sticks
Tape
Markers
Colored Pencils
Black Sharpie
Pencils
Paint and Pant Supplies
If you can’t get a hold of any supplies needed for the week, email Alexei at office@beaconuu.com or Stephanie at fabarette@gmail.com.
