Lent is a 40 day (sans Sundays) observance and preparation for Christians that occurs just before Easter. Those who observe lent, often focus on the three pillars of lent, prayer, fasting, and alms giving. So what would be an appropriate way for UUs to stand with our Christian brothers and sisters?
The editor of UU World, Christopher L. Walton, suggests looking at the ideas presented by three Unitarian Universalists—Mr. Barb Greve, Karen Bellavance-Grace, and Alex Kapitan. A few years ago they put together a simple spiritual practice for UUs to try during Lent. The information is a few years out of date but the concepts are great.
