Reverend Kevin J. Lawson
Greetings and thanks for checking out Beacon UU Congregation, Flagstaff. As a Unitarian Universalist congregation, spiritually and ethically grounded (without the constraints of dogma or creed) we welcome all who are seeking a religious community. I look forward to meeting you in person soon. – Rev. Kev
Rev. Kevin is a minister in preliminary fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA). He was ordained into the ministry October 2015 by First Unitarian Church, Portland, OR. Rev. Kevin had been a long time member of First Unitarian since the early 1990’s. Prior to attending seminary and his journey into ministry, he served on the Board of Trustees, sang in choir and served on many various committees and work groups.
Rev. Kevin received his Master of Divinity, with a Certificate in Theological Studies (Hebrew and Christian Scriptures intensive) and a Certificate in Pastoral Care from Marylhurst University, Lake Oswego, OR, in June 2013. He completed a successful ministry internship with Westside Unitarian Universalist Congregation, in Seattle, WA from 2014 to 2015. Then he served as a Chaplain Resident with the Veterans Health Administration, Portland Medical Center, from August 2015 to June 2016. His duties included providing spiritual care and support to our vets at both the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA VA facilities. He was called to Beacon in June 2016, and began in service with us August 2016.

His love of people, making connections, and being of service provide a strong thread of continuity along his journey into ministry.
